Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship

Bring Your Parents and Grandparents to Canada Permanently

Canada values family reunification and offers the Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship Program (PGP) to help citizens and permanent residents bring their parents and grandparents to live with them in Canada as permanent residents.

At NorthPass Immigration Services, we guide families through this detailed process to ensure a smooth and successful sponsorship experience.

Who Can Sponsor a Family Member?

Expression of Interest

Submit an Interest to Sponsor Form when the program opens (typically once per year through a lottery-based selection system).

If selected, IRCC will send you an invitation to submit a complete sponsorship application within a set deadline.

You must submit:

  • A complete sponsorship and permanent residence application
  • Supporting documents
  • Medical exam results from a panel physician
  • Police clearance certificates for applicants over 18
IRCC will review and process your application.
